the start of wedding season

This saturday was the first of the couple weddings (besides our own) that we have lined up for the summer- and kale's all time first wedding. My college girl friend Jodee Johnson got married by a beautiful waterfall near black river falls, wi. Not only was Kale the best little boy ever, but the ceremony was absolutely breath taking! We went early and took Kale to a near by park and played for a while and he had so much fun :)
After the ceremony, there was a beautiful dinner held at the Castle Hill Dinner club- all in all, the wedding was beautiful but not as beautiful as the bride :)
Later that evening, I went out in downtown eau claire with a good friend Michelle Butkus for her bachelorette party! We had such a great time! One thing is for sure, when I am with Michelle I am always laughing! I am lucky to have such a fun friend in my life! We ended our busy weekend having lunch in Holcombe with Jordy's parents and grandparents. It was a beautiful afternoon to sit on their porch, enjoy a grilled lunch and watch the brewers game! Looking forward to another great week and weekend coming up :D

wednesday adventure 08/10/11

Lately, it has been a tradition for my mom, kale and I (and sometimes my sister) to get together and do something for the wedding, or just fun on a wednesday afternoon- since it my day off during the week! This wednesday, we set off for Augusta, WI home of the woodshed. Those of you who do not know, the woodshed is a cute little store that sells amish made furniture, decorations, etc. The items are simply beautiful, all hand crafted right in WI made with Oak wood and love. Generally, the price reflects this :)
To start with, Kale had been rather fussy during the morning- as he is already teething, and then to put the icing on the cake he has the biggest dirtiest diaper the second that we step foot in the store. So- out I go to change his diaper out of the back of my mom's vehicle. While I am doing this I notice horse drawn buggies and men driving lawn mowers all over the place- It was quite entertaining..
We went through the entire store, Kale was fast asleep in a matter of time, and we shopped til we dropped. There were lots of cute signs for the house- One of my favorites to be placed by our second bathroom that my husband uses "what happens in the man cave- stays in the man cave".
I was in search of a new christmas stocking for Kale but was not in luck- as they were not in yet.. sounds like we will have to make another trip :) On the way back we stopped in a whole foods store called Weavers- right outside of Hallie where I found my true love of a snack :dark chocolate covered espresso beans! YUM!
On the menu tonight: our new fav creation: whole wheat pasta, spices, black beans, italian turkey sausage, stewed tomatoes, portabello mushrooms and olive oil :)
That is all for now! Lots of things to look forward to this weekend!

First Blog!

This will be my very first blog! How exciting!  So many of my friends have been keeping me busy with their entertaining blogs so I have decided to give a go at it! So much has changed in our lives in the past few months and I have plenty to share! Jordan and I moved to Chippewa Falls WI about 6 months ago, where I got my first job at the Mayo Clinic there. Shortly after our move I gave birth to our beautiful son Kale Jordan Crass. Kale was born 9 days late on April 26th, weighing in at 8 pounds 12 ounces and measuring 21.50 inches long! There is a chance that Kale will be one of the tallest crass men around :) Kale has been growing oh so fast and has won my heart over since day one! We are looking forward to our "official" wedding this October- which is fastly approaching!
This is it for now! More to come! Happy Tuesday evening!
